48 hours in length: The last 8-hours are spent shadowing/working on the floor with a med pass Nurse of your facility for a portion of the day. Our instructor will coordinate this with you on the front end. Two to three participants per Nurse is the preferred ratio.
Course hours can be set up as it best works between the organization(s) and the instructor availability (Days/Evenings/Weekends).
The course can be conducted at your location or at a MN State College location.
The course will be invoiced at full participation = 10 students.
Participants must have completed a nursing assistant training program approved by the Department of Health and be at least 18 years old.
Books and training materials will be provided for all participants.
Advanced Minnesota will send a contract to each organization prior to training. An invoice will be sent within 30 days of the first day of training.
Open enrollment classes have a minimum enrollment requirement. Open enrollment classes will have minimum enrollment requirements and require payment at the time of registration.
Gail has been with Advanced Minnesota and Minnesota State since 2003. As the Operations Manager for the past three years, she previously held a position as a Customized Training Representative working in Healthcare, Safety & Health and Process Improvement.
Gail graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BS degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. She spent the majority of her career working in Healthcare, before joining the Minnesota State system. Working for the colleges, she attained her Six Sigma Green Belt Certification in 2006 from the University of St. Thomas; a Black Belt Certification in 2013 from ASQ and is currently working on her Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma from HSU of the Robert W. Galvin Institute.
She also spends time as the Vice President of Minnesota Federated Humane Societies, volunteering as a State Humane Agent in addition to providing animal rescue services and resources for local communities.
Gail’s mission is to be sure Advanced Minnesota doesn’t remain ‘the best kept secret’ for providing Workforce Training Solutions.
Sarah Behrens is the Coordinator of School & Industry Partnerships at Northwest Technical College. She has worked with Advanced Minnesota as a Customer Service Representative supporting industry training in the Bemidji area since 2019.
Sarah received her Bachelor’s degree in Land Use from Metropolitan State College of Denver, CO, her Master’s in Educational Psychology from the University of Colorado in Denver, CO, and is currently completing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration at St. Cloud State University.
Sarah has served as treasurer on the PTO at Lincoln Elementary.
