Program Description
The Federal Mine Safety and Health Act requires that miners be trained. Part 46 training contains specific training requirements for miners working in sand, gravel, surface stone, surface clay or surface limestone mines.
Part 46 also covers surface mining operations recovering the following commodities: Granite, Marble, Sandstone, Slate, Shale, Traprock, Kaolin and Lime
*Individuals needing Part 46 training may also take the Part 48 ART training. Part 48 fully complies with the training requirements for Part 46.
